Laxmi is said to be swarna-hasta that means golden-handed. As this name suggests the god pours out material resource to the community. where there is Laxmi there is prosperity. Wealth here also includes ethical and ethical values, the nobler aspects of life, the facility of the mind and intellect. this sort of wealth has to be acquired by a seeker before his initiation into spiritual data. That explains why Laxmi is idolised before Saraswati throughout the devi-puja.
She is that the individual of great beauty and is portrayed in standing further as within the seated  postures. She is however continuously seen on a lotus. In her hands she holds 2 lotuses. in the avatarams of Lord Hindu deity, lakshmi conjointly took varous forms to accompany him - sita with avatar, Rukmini with krishna.
