Swami Vivekananda, known in his premonastic life as Narendranath Datta, was conceived in a well-to-do family in Kolkata on 12 January 1863. His father, Vishwanath Datta, was a fruitful lawyer with diversions in an extensive variety of subjects, and his mother, Bhuvaneshwari Devi, was invested with profound dedication, solid character and different qualities. A bright kid, Narendra exceeded expectations in music, tumbling and studies. When he moved on from Calcutta University, he had obtained an unfathomable learning of distinctive subjects, particularly Western theory and history. Conceived with a yogic personality, he used to practice reflection even from his childhood, and was connected with Brahmo Movement for quite a while.

With Sri Ramakrishna

At the edge of youth Narendra needed to pass through a time of profound emergency when he was ambushed by questions about the presence of God. It was around then he first caught wind of Sri Ramakrishna from one of his English educators at school. One day in November 1881, Narendra went to meet Sri Ramakrishna who was staying at the Kali Temple in Dakshineshwar. He straightaway asked the Master an inquiry which he had put to a few others however had gained no acceptable reply: "Sir, have you seen God?" Without a minute's wavering, Sri Ramakrishna answered: "Yes, I have. I see Him as unmistakably as I see you, just in a much intenser sense."

Separated from expelling questions from the psyche of Narendra, Sri Ramakrishna won him over through his immaculate, unselfish adoration. Subsequently started a master supporter relationship which is truly exceptional ever. Narendra now turned into a regular guest to Dakshineshwar and, under the direction of the Master, made fast strides on the profound way. At Dakshineshwar, Narendra likewise met a few adolescent men who were dedicated to Sri Ramakrishna, and they all got close companions.
